there seems little info about this on this site. any advice, tutorial i overlooked?

im trying to get rid of random knock on cos3. most of the tables mentioned in the few posts i found are not there. 6246, 6247, 6228 are zeroed out. confusing.

At what rpms does this knock occur?

Also try zeroing burst knock.

as mentioned its random knock when accelerating (none at redline so far) but also in situations where engine cant knock, especcially in view of the high octane gas it drinks. im logging burst and its not related, i saw it only a couple of times.

so which of the tables would be a good starting point? im talking about values of typically 0.5-2.0 degrees btw.

B6250 and B6255 are the tables you are looking for to change. What are your numbers there?

Thanks

b6250 is 15 up to 3200 rpm and 13 from there. 6255 is 13.

is there a writeup or something somewhere? it looks quite involved. no idea what rpm and tps knock modes are. a lot of stuff multilying ittself. a/b tables are for when not in rpm or tps mode??? i would have thought 6242 is the one to play with (is 255). os 0202003(and a lot of confusion) here.

btw, stock/original 6250 oscilates between 9 and 11 up to 4000 rpm and is 11 from there. no 6255, no rpm mode apparently, 6242 is 245.

When the ECU is in transition meaning RPM is increasing it will use the TPS and RPM tables. whichever is higher it will use.

When its in steady state it uses the per cylinder numbers.

looking through all the stuff i see my knock sensor sensitivity (b6228) is zeroed out (os3). its also zero in the original 2002 file. its populated however in the stock 1999 file.

what to think of this? my knock retard works.
