All,
I am working on tuning my 2000 SS. Car has a lid, stock MAF, FAST 92/92, Stock injectors, MS3 Cam, 1 3/4" kooks into 3" True Duals. I am running an AEM 30-0300 via the analog input. Getting the car running right has been a challenge - it had been sitting for 6 or 7 years. I've done a ton of mechanical to ensure the car is running how it should - fuel filter, plugs, fixed airbox issues, tightened intake bolts, all fluids, compression test, etc.
Worth mentioning that I could not get the AEM AFR pid to match the AFR displayed on the gauge, I found the voltage at EXT.1 to be .45v off of the displayed voltage, so I edited the CLC-00-050 formula to reflect that. Now AEM AFR matches.
So here's where I am at:
Before getting started with WOT tuning, I've noticed WOT AFR's to be high - between 13.4 and 14.0:1. I've done RAFIG tuning to cure much of the stalling and bucking, but it still needs work, which I am hoping CALC.VET process can help with. In any case, I haven't been beating on the car as a result of WOT AFR being so far off. I've also done all preliminary tuning - changing fan speeds, eliminating CEL's, egr, etc. I also followed the guide, editing the B0701 through B3609. As you can see in my Calc.pid file, my OS doesn't have GM.DYNAIRTMP_DMA, so I am using CALC.B4901 in my calculations instead.
I went to log calc.vet and things seemed to be going well until I did a WOT pull, which can be found at 18:22:50, and I saw AFR's shoot up to 16-17:1. Somewhat baffled, I went in and changed PE settings from setting all rows to 1.16 to the stock table, which is what is found in the tune now. I did another pull and found AFR's to still be high, between 13.4 and 14:1.
How do I make sure I don't burn up the motor during the tuning process? Why did AFR's go so lean when changing the PE settings as suggested in the guide? Also, can y'all help ensure I'm not missing anything else obvious in the tune?
I've included my tune, calc.pids file, log file, and a couple of screen shots of the dashboard filtered on WOT which show ARF's for the two WOT pulls.
Thank you all for help in advance.
