Subject sums it up.

I've got the car running on a 411 PCM, its not firing on cylinders just yet and I did switch the 2-3 & 4-7 injector wiring along with the injector bank assignment adjustments. I'm assuming I'll need to do a crank relearn and I will here shortly. The 93 LT1 Camaro was strickly a 1-bar MAP, not MAF. Can I just disable the MAF by adjusting the high and low limits and then tune off the VE tables using the 1-bar? Or should I install a MAF?

You should be able to run the MAF, you will have to correct the MAF table since the LT1 MAF/intake ducting is different from the LS1.

It's up to you, can you easily/cheaply plumb a MAF into your intake duct (including wiring to PCM)...?
Where is your IAT sensor located...?

You will also need to correct the VE tables.

For now, it might be simpler/quicker to get it running on VE only.

LT1: 18726543
LS1: 18436572

( the bank assignment is also used for testing for misfires, and knock detection, which opens up a whole another discussion )

Thank you joe,

I got the car running pretty good and decided to upgrade to COS5. All went to hell after that. I followed the tutorial to a T and had to manually transfer over all my tables because the original os on the 411 pcm was 9381344. I originally got the car to run by copying over all the spark and fuel parameters from a 2002 Express Van tune into the 9381344 operating system. So, after the failed COS5 upgrade I flashed the entire 9381344 tune back into the car and it fired right up. So I decided to just full flash the 02 Express Van tune into the ECU since thats where i got all the calibrations from in the first place and so I could keep my calibrations when I try to upgrade to COS5 again. Well, now the car wont start again. So i opened up efilive scan to select some PIDs to monitor and now it says all the GM and SAE pids are unsupported. What happened?

Are you sure you have a 0411 PCM...?

When scantool connects, go Info->Validate Pids.

Do you have another PCM to try...?

Yes, I’m 100% positive it’s a 411 PCM. I haven’t tried the validate PIDs procedure yet and will give that a go this evening. The PID’s were valid and worked two days ago so I’m not sure what happened. Also, I can wire in the MAF no problem. Would it be better to run it with the MAF Vs just on the 1-bar MAP?

Small update: The validate PIDs procedure in the EFILive scanner worked great and I have all the supported PIDs back. I played around with the IAC effective range and now the car purrs at 750rpm idle. I really need to get this thing running on COS5 so I can hook up the wideband and use AutoVE to dial in the tune. Thank you for all the help thus far joecar!

Here are some pictures of this project I’ve been working on. No one makes a plug-n-play harness for the 93 Camaro because it’s such an odd-ball year. I had to cut the factory plugs off and solder in the c1 & c2 connectors for the 411 PCM. All those Deutsch connectors are for the coils, injectors, precat o2 sensors, crank, cam and power to injectors, coils and o2 heater circuits.

Good job

Projects are always fun :) ( otherwise we'd be too bored, right...!? )

Thanks! What are your thoughts on not having a MAF? Should I go ahead and install it or just tune off the 1-bar and stay in speed density mode? We should have the wideband installed this week to start on the tuning side of things.
