I am getting an error report (out of range) when I try to log MAF raw frequency GM.MAFFREQ2. Is this not supported?

GM.MAFFREQ2 is for GenIV (E38, E67).

Thanks. What is the correct pid to log maf hz?

For Gen3 (LS1A/LS1B):

GM.MAFFREQ

I don't see it on the list. I only see GM.MAFERROR and GM.MAFFREQ2. I validated the pids with shift+f2. Also, I can't find coolant temp. I sorted them by selecting units then trying each one. What should I do next?

I unchecked the supported tab and i found it on the list. It validated the coolant temp sensor but there is a red x on GM.MAFFREQ, GM.KR, GM.EQUIVRATIO, AND GM.IBPW1. How do I get them to validate?

Hmmm... those pids should be valid on LS1A.

After connecting scantool, try doing Info->Validate Pids.

I did. There was no change. Also, I just updated to the latest versions of 7.5 & 8 and now more pids are invalid. I don't have rpm or engine temp anymore.

Can you post screenshots of the invalid pids.

Go Help->About in the v7 scantool, what version does it say...?

I have attached two screenshots. Both the Pid list and the about page

I'm assuming you're using a laptop...

Hook the interface up to the OBD2 port on your vehicle.
Turn the ignition key on, but don't start the engine.
Click File > Select Controller... Set the correct controller type for your vehicle.
Click the 'connect' icon in the scantool.
Validate your Pids.

Let us know if that helps at all.

Statesman: I did what you suggested, and the situation is unchanged.

There's something weird happening with either your software or your device. I looked back at your old posts and you had a similar problem tuning an E38. Try removing all the selected Pids from your list and then just select gm.maffreq and see if it validates when no other pids are selected.

statesman: I did what you suggested and it worked. I unchecked all the other pids except for GM.MAFFREQ and it validated it. What do I do next?

Okay, this is definitely a technical issue with your flashscan. You'll need to contact Efilive support and see if they can fix it for you.

Now try adding some of the other pids back, like SAE.VSS, SAE.TP, SAE.MAP, GM.MAF

and see what happens.

Could you please try re-validating the PIDs while connected to the vehicle/controller and once that is complete, select the menu option: File->Generate error report. Save that error report and email it to me at paul@efilive.com. Include a link to this thread so I know what it is about.

Paul
