I just did a 4l80e swap on my 2001 suburban 1500/5.3 so i don't have to keep living in fear of the 60e losing the 34 clutch packs again. I full flashed to a 2002 os and did a segment swap. Im getting very slight knock in low load areas. Im not too concerned about the knock but i am wondering if the false knock problems with my 2001 pcm would be fixed with the 2002 os upgrade or is the problem hardware related. I also noticed that between 2001 and 2002 the 5.3 seems to have exactly the same engine but different spark and ve tables. I am getting far less knock with the stock 2002 tune than i ever did with the earlier os and tune with less timing. Seems like the 2002 os fixed it.
