Tune on 2018 6.7 ram

I got EFI live from ppei. Then I try to install the tune it comes up with the code that the key is not on when the key is on. They even tried to tune in with my laptop and the tuner and it sad the same thing key not on. Any advice Would help me. Thanks

Sounds like you need the SGM bypassed....

2018 needs the serial gateway module bypassed (it blocks OBD-II port messages), speak with PPEI about how to do that is probably your best bet.

Ok thanks they told me my truck was messed up and I needed to take it to the dealer. That they have done many 18’s with no problems and the problem was on my end to figure it out . So thanks for helping me with your product .

If you Google 'Dodge SGW bypass' you'll see there is people selling harnesses that bypass this module and allow you direct access to the CAN bus. It is a common issue on all Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep vehicles from late 2017.


On a different note, are the 18 files any different then previous 2350 files?
Layout wise no, but they are digitally signed using a different key so on a stock ECM you would not be able to flash in a 2018 file to an earlier ECM.

Ok I got the cable and put it in. Now the flash goes to 99% and stops and gives 0540 code. Any ideas?

That indicates the ECM still has the anti-tuning security active.
You probably need to be talking with PPEI to make sure your Autocal (I'm assuming that is what you have) is running the newer releases that will disable that security for you.
