trying to check a read tune from a 1997 Buick Skylark, it is in the supported list.
But when trying to open the P08_0091.ctz file, I get a pop up window stating it is a Unrecognized PCM... this version of the EFILive Tuning Tool has not yet been configured to display this controller's operating system...

I believe these are considered end-of-life and no support is available. What's the OS #, you could look on your PC under C:\Program Files (x86)\EFILive\V7.5\Calibrations\4CYL\ and see if there is a file for your OS.

OK, The OS is 16250885 but the program says it's an Alternate OS Number. ,
There is no file with that OS number.
I realize it's unsupported now, but it shouldn't have been removed from the program as it once was supported.

I'm just trying to remember how these worked but I don't think they had an actual OS number as such.
Unfortunately we won't be able to add new OS's in now but if you want you can send the .ctz to support@efilive.com and we can just see if it might be a simple fix vs an unmapped OS.

Just received an email from Andrew Jensen EFILive Limited.
he said
"Hi Edward,

I’m sorry that is not an operating system that we support. The controller used in that vehicle is also end of support, meaning that we will no longer release updates or create new OS support for them.
The latest OS (one later than being used now) is also not supported. So there’s no real option for this one unfortunately.

Regards,

Andrew Jensen

OK, but I had thought it was supported at one time because your web site says this.

but I guess I have a different 97 Buick Skylark.
I wasn't disputing the fact that it was the end of life, but the software should still have read it as it was supported...

Hi Wolfie,

The problem with these PCM's was the sheer number of OS's they released for them. With the Buick sharing the same engine, platform and PCM with other GM vehicles it is very difficult to ensure the supported vehicle list is 100% accurate for every year model. I have no doubt that a Skylark file was supported at some point which is why it is on the list but for your particular vehicle none of the calibrations released were even mapped out during the period that PCM was being worked on (based on what GM's CalID website says).
I'm sorry we can't continue to add these OS's in now the PCM has retired from development.

Cheers,
Ross
