Swapping os?

got a 07.5 6.7 that came in with a smarty on it and it didn't return to stock correctly so I don't have a usable stock file that is clean and the same os current os is a 11551035 can I switch it to a 11620807 and be ok? truck was a 08 I read out and it had a clean file and optioned similar mega cab with leather? never done os swaps with cummins so don't know if it is a big no no or not

On this model ECM you can do OS switching but you need to make sure the CalID is a match, that is what defines what the target vehicle is for the calibration (eg, 2500, Manual/Auto etc).
Eg the CalID might be something like 55351430BH.
What you are asking above is to go from a 2007 to a 2008 program, that might not work on the truck very well, I don't know.
