I'm the 2nd owner of a 05 CTS-V with a mp112 supercharger and a efi live tune. Beyond that I have no idea of the tune file, etc or a way to interface and read the tune file. What would be my best angle of attack here to be able to see the tune on the car, post some parameters and fix my issue of the car cutting out at 120mph.

If you can't see or alter the tune, you're not going to be able to do anything.

What if I purchased a flashscan?

Keep in mind that FlashScan is just a tool...

you would have to learn how to use it (in this case it seems you would have to know to look for the speed limiter and disable it or raise it).

Depending on where you are in the world, you might be able to have someone read your existing tune to see what might be holding you back. Reading a tune doesn't cost any credits, and should let you troubleshoot the problem.

Can you get a hold of the previous owner and have them e-mail you the latest tune that was flashed? If you get that, you can post it here and get some feedback.

On my Z06, I have RPM by gear limiters for throttle and I forget if it's global or by gear for the spark as well, so there are a number of ways to govern top speed but they're easy enough to find and fix but you need scan and flash ability to do it.

Ok guys been a few months but I was able to get the tune files from the previous owner(great guy btw!). It looks like the tune was done in EFI live v7.5. What is the next step to examine the files and interface with my car. Sorry if this question seems pretty basic, but I'm new to tuining here. Do I purchase a tool here and can I buy a used one on ebay? I have the tune file I can post if you guys want to take a peek.

Thanks!

Log commanded EQR and wideband Lambda.
Is it a COS...?
Make sure PE enables correctly and is sufficient.
Make sure VE/MAF/IFR scaling is good.
