Hi guys,
it is more than 10 years that I read with great interest this forum.... and allways I have found solutions to my problems only using the magic button... "SEARCH".

But there is always the first time for everything.....

I customer have a C5 Corvette with 383 rotating assembly, Edelbrock heads and unknow camshaft...... with Harrop Hurricane ITB intake.
The car wasn't running because the drive by wire was always in error.

Now, after some research, I have found (and solved) a problem with TPS mounting tab and spring loaded leverism. The car idles, run and drive nearly well..... at least to start to do some serious datalogging to tune the engine.

The big problem is that after few minutes of driving the engine go in limp mode with C1278 and P1514 erros.

My feeling is that the problem is coming from ABS because you can keep revving the engine in the garage for the whole afternoon.

Any suggestion ?
Anyone with Harrop ITB installed with succes ?

Thanks a lot from an Italian guy

In the Engine Diagnostics section of the tune file, look at the various sanity tables... you will have to modify the tables that deal with ETC.

Have your FlashScan plugged in to your PC/laptop when you open the tune file.

I know these tables,

C6101 is maxed out at 4'095,9

C6102 is maxed out at 4'000

But seems not working as expected

May I change in the TPS tables C3906 or C3907 ???

Any ITB setup I would highly recommend going to Alpha N for 3/4s of the fueling control. ITB will have almost full atmospheric pressure at the slightest throttle crack. This will make your normal VE table almost a 2d table. I'll attach the tune for one of the latest ones I have done.

Thanks for the inpput..... but this will be next step.

Now my problem is to avoid limp mode, even cruising around the block at very low speed.

Please help me...

Make sure that the throttle blades are not sticking.

Thanks for suggestion...
After long process of alignment and tuning the blades are moving smoothly.....

When I have the limp mode I have these errors:

C1278 and P1514

Then if I reset the erros and maybe I can drive for 40 minutes with no problems..... or again limp mode in 5 minutes.... I'm losing my head !!

I agree with joecar... it's tripping out on one of your sanity tables.

Can you post your tune file and a log with it going into limp mode?

I can post the tune actually in the car..... I don't know from where is coming !

I only rised values of C6101 and C6102

Hope I'm doing well with the attachment....

Thanks for the help

Without a log of it going into limp mode, I'm just guessing... but try this adjusted tune file.

Ok, I did a quick test but limp mode was still there.... after 2-3 minutes of cruising around.
I don't have my laptop with me, so no datalog, but i checked errors and I have:

P0102 (MAF error, should be ok because engine is running withiut MAF)
P0108 (MAP error, sensor circuit high..... could be the problem ??)
P0141 (O2 sensor number 2, shouldn't be an issue)
P0443 (Purge solenoid, the car haven't EVAP system, shouldn't be an issue I guess...)

P1514 (If I'm not wrong this should cause Limp Mode, right?..... but why I have this error?.... maybe because of no correlation between MAP and TPS ?)
C1278 (this is coming from ABS and should be consequence of P1514, right ?)

My question is:

Why I'm having P1514 ?
Should be caused by an uncorrect correlation between MAP and MAF..... but my MAF is off..... and tables C6101 and C6102 are maxed out respectively at 4095,9 and 4000

There are more tables correlated to this kind of problem ?

Are my consideration wrong is some way ?

Thanks guys, any help is very appreciated !!

P0108 (MAP error, sensor circuit high..... could be the problem ??)

This is the code that gets my attention. Get a log for me and make sure you're logging TPS, APP, MAP, IAT, ECT, RPM... and whatever else you want to log.

Hi guys,

sorry for being so late, but I had no time to do it before.

Here a LOG of some cruising around with at the end the limp mode !!

23008

The car have a mild cam, 383 LS1 stroker engine and Harrop Hurricane Intake.

If I can delete this problem I can't tune the car which, I'm desperate !!!

Thanks for any kind of help !!!!

Forgot to mention that errors are the same even with new TPS and new MAP.

Of course P0102 means that MAF is disabled, can P1514 be consequence of P0108 ??

Really confused......

I will have a look when I get to my laptop
can't view the file from this PC
what injectors do you have ?

Stroker-427

Stock injectors, engine isn't already tuned....... I can't do it if I can solve the problem.

By the way the car is running smooth when criusing.

Nobody have found the way to completely delete this annoing limp mode ? I guess many people would be very happy ! :help:

I'm desperate !!!

It takes you 2 months to post a log, but you're desperate? :ermm:

I'll try to get to your log in the next day or two.

Reading the file......

so you think problem is coming from TPS or MAF..... of course there is no MAF in the car, but zeroing the calibration any strange signal can only be read as zero flow. Intersting !!

One question..... why you scaled VE and Injectors by nearly 11% ?

The net result in the mixture is the same...... so you guess some ECU calculation issue, right ?

The rest is clear.

Sorry for asking, but I like to understand instead to flash the file and to cross fingers.....

Thanks again !!

while the car is SD tuned so no problem if you zeroed the MAF and it will make sure it will not affect any thing if any of the sanity checks fails
scaled the VE and injectors because there is a limit in the LS1B ECM which will cause the P1514 but you will not reach it with stock injectors and NA setup this was just to make sure
any updates ?
