View Full Version : adjustments to VE don't seem to have the expected results

Hoping that someone can help me out.

Turbo motor w/out the turbo. Bought a LY6 shortblock and added LS3 heads/intake. Mostly SBE w/ custom Brian Tooley cam (like stage 2).

Ended up removing MAF so it will be speed density. Has an LS9 MAP sensor and 127lb FIC injectors.

I included two tunes and two scans. I mostly reduced fueling and it didn't seem to effect the cells that I changed. I was thinking that maybe the tune was using different cells than my scan was.

Thanks

Do you get a MAF DTC...?

Are you running return fuel system (with FPR connected to manifold vacuum) or return-less...?

Thanks for the help Joe. Yes, I did get the MAF DTC P0101 M-PHXNCI.

I have removed the MAF.

Stock fuel system except injectors and 255 pump. Also LS2 fuel rail.

Thanks

I ended up trying an LS3 Map sensor. Didn't seem to make any difference. Still very rich at idle with same VE table. I did change the parameters (Scaler/Offset). Both the LS3 and LS9 MAP sensors showed 14.6 before starting the motor.

This is a 2000 Firebird Formula.

I can't look at your tune file right now, but I'm guessing with your large injectors that you're hitting minimum pulse.

Change {B4003}, {B4004} and {B9021}... set all values to 0.25

Thanks statesman. I think this was the issue. I was about to give up.

I did a search and saw others having the issue. Still working on it.

I changed B4003 and B4004. I could not find B9021. The provided injector data was 1.25 so I changed it to the .25. This didn't work.

I did a search for B9021 and saw there was a post on people still having issues and how to add this since EFI Live wasn't updating any more. So I added that parameter and now it didn't start initially but then it did. Looks like it's going lean.

Thanks for the help. It seems to be working much better.

I have another issue. It seems like my O2 sensors are registering very lean conditions at times but the wideband doesn't seem to show that.

Would someone mind looking at my log. It's only going around the block because I don't want to hurt my motor.

I looked at your log and I don't see anything wrong. Your wideband shows lean when your narrowbands show lean.
