Hi everyone. I'm working on getting my project car started for the first time and need a compatible OS to overwrite the 2013 Silverado OS (12653674) from my donor engine/ECM. Here are the details:

The car is a 1987 Trans Am. The engine is an aluminum 5.3L LC9 from a 2013 Silverado (E38 ECM). The transmission is a CTSV/SSR Hybrid T56.

I plan to build the engine up a little more in the future, but for now, it’s a stock long block, 96mm Professional Products Intake, Siemens Deka 60lb injectors,90mm LS3/LS7 gold blade throttle body with a Corvette DBW pedal. It’s set up for a 100mm MAF and a 2-bar MAP and has twin Borg Warner EFR 7163 turbos.

I really want to keep the VVT but haven’t been able to find a compatible operating system for a manual transmission. I don’t think anyone has found a way to keep AFM with a manual so I’ve given up on that for now.

Anyone have any suggestions for making this work?

-Tom

Easiest vehicle that comes to mind are the 10-15 auto Camaros, they have the L99 which has AFM and VVT. That's what I'd use as a base ECM OS to keep things simple, you may need to swap some pins on the harness and/or a pedal to a Camaro pedal. Look at segment swapping the trans segments from a manual LS3 Camaro to get the L99 + manual setup.

Here's a list of LS RPOs with VVT from Summit Racing: https://help.summitracing.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4902/~/ls-engine-tech---variable-valve-timing-%28vvt%29

Does anyone know of a manual transmission OS that is compatible with the E38 from the Silverado? 2013 Silverado OS (12653674)

I just googled a 2013 Camaro V8 manual and it has that ECM OS, I'd start there with that. I don't have a file and the DropBox only has 2013 automatics, so you'll need to obtain the file.

The Camaros don't have VVT, so you'll need to play around with what's needed to make the manual + VVT swap work. Start with segment swapping the System segment, I believe that's where the auto vs manual stuff lives (if anyone else know for sure, please chime in). If that doesn't work, you'll need to segment swap the engine and engine diagnostic segments in to get the manual stuff working. Then go back and re-enable the VVT in the tune and work through that.

Thanks Erik, I’ll try that.

Does anyone have a file for a 2013 Manual Camaro w/ 12653674?
