I have just got a new Core Duo Laptop 1Gb ram with dual 1.66Mhz latest processors and EFIlive is awesome on it. Shows the dashboard so close to real time its unimportant the lag.
Much much quicker than my older Celeron 800. Very pleased.

Very cool. If I don't get my laptop back soon, I may be in the market for a similar upgrade.

I've been running dual core 2Ghz for some time now. You do notice a difference. While EFILive itself isn't threaded (or at least doesn't appear to be) the operating system (XP) at least has another core to do other stuff that would have normally interrupted.

The key word here is Celeron... Core Duo is a fast CPU even with only one CPU under load. I think you would have seen a huge jump in performance with anything other then a Celeron.
Is this a Dell notebook? Model? Video card?
Regardless very nice upgrade.

1G mem is nice, Windows won't have to swap out to disk as often.
