Getting ready to tune VE tables. Noticed a suggestion for minimum of 180 degree ECT before tuning. I am running a 160 tstat and normally see <180 ECT. Any issues with tuning below 180?

I like to get about 15 minutes of cruising going before logging data to change the VE. My reasoning is:

When the car is cold, it's not just ECT that is warming up. The oil has to warm up too. This takes longer than the ECT. I didn't notice this until I had my C5 Vette with an oil temp guage.

After about 15 minutes, the car should be up to operating temps...IAT's, ECT's, oil temps, trans temps, diff. temps. The closer you get the car to normal operating temps, the more accurate the data you're using will be.

I too like to use data when at normal operating temps. I shoot for anyting over 175*F ECT and less then 80*F IAT's.
