Does anyone know the correct procedure for using the theft relearn feature of V7.5 scan tool DVT on an E38 ECM? I've been trying the cycle method of relearn (3 cycles/600 seconds “start-on”), and while I can get the “Service Theft Deterrent System” DIC message to clear and the security indicator lamp to go out, it still will not crank. When the Deactivate is selected on the DVT function, the “Service Theft Deterrent System” immediately shows on DIC along with security indicator lamp. Acts like it wants to work, but won't stick. Any documentation and/or tribal knowledge out there?
