Does anyone know the correct procedure for using the theft relearn feature of V7.5 scan tool DVT on an E38 ECM? I've been trying the cycle method of relearn (3 cycles/600 seconds start-on), but failed to clear “Service Theft Deterrent System".
Attempted to use DVT function Anti Theft Relearn though I could not find any documentation on the procedure. Selected Activate and Relearn. Nothing happened immediately, so cycled ignition off/on and “Service Theft Deterrent System” DIC message disappears and security indicator lamp goes out. Attempted to start but still would not crank. Attempted the cycle method of relearn (3 cycles/600 seconds start-on). Deactivated the DVT function. “Service Theft Deterrent System” immediately shows on DIC along with security indicator lamp.
Seems like it wants to work, but the engine won't crank and it doesn't stay cleared. Any suggestions?
