I have just updated my e38 with new full-flash per instructions from Swingtan's E38 VVE Dial in Guide to do a mafless SD tune. Engine runs but no fans.
I get intermittent connections with Scan7.5. When I did connect, I used the DVT tab to activate Fans #1, #2 and the fuel pump duty cycle.
The fans started working as soon as I activated them in DVT and so did the fuel pump 3sec prime.
When I disconnect or close Scan7.5 those settings stop working.

Seems like every time I try to log I get a #31 error. As soon as I do validate pids, I loose my pid selection and the pid list reverts to mostly ext_ pid's.
It's been taking 4 to 6 cranking cycles to start the engine. I don't have any hair left to pull-out. I've attached my tun. but can't log.
Appreciate any help.

Finally got a log file.

EFILive_Hapi did not start; EFILive_Hapi.exe not found.
Windows cannot locate the path to the EFILive_Hapi.exe file. It should be installed into the EFILive V8 “Program Files” folder.
Reinstall EFILive V8.
Contact EFILive if this error persists

Did you contact EFILive support...?

Did you contact EFILive support...?

Yes, I could not figure out why V8/Scan7.5 would not log/monitor. Re-installing V8 was not the fix.
Support hit it on the head...I had originally had my DD Bim controller wired into OBDII at the pin which worked with 7.5. But on a suggestion from a tuner to make the Bim unplugable to insure it would not interfere when tuning. I moved the connection to the middle of the e38 can wires and that's when it quit connecting to 7.5. I rely on the DD gauges to verify my oil, temp, and rpm cause I can't keep my eye on the laptop when driving. Gotta come up with a solution. I may go back making connections at the OBD pin but have a pigtail I can disconnect.
