What will pro tuning allow me to do on Cummins ECM and PCMs?

Nothing extra, it was more for GM gas ECM's.

I heard that you can flash in a 2018 file into the 2013-2017 trucks. Is this correct? Also is there now user-defined parameters.

You can flash a 13 to 17 file into an 18 and an 18 file in to a 13 to 17 truck. You should try it. It won't be right....

User defined parameters is HPTuner lingo. Anything user defined in EFILive is completed with the .cax (or update format) file.

18 file should work fine for 13-18

I have not witnessed that. I have placed a known good file for a 2015 truck onto a 2018 truck and codes for the MAP and MAF sensor existed. Yes, the MAF and MAP sensor were plugged in. Both trucks were the same trim package and had the same level of modification. I have since modified a 2018 specific file for 2018 trucks.

I didnt say you could use 15 file in 18 truck, I said you could use 18 file for 13-18

Wow, pardon my struggles with English... I have not tried an 18 file in a 13 to 17 truck. I will have to give that a go.
