I was having a beer last night and doing some thinking,

Since the LML can't be read by Efilive, couldn't the software 'generate' a stock file based on vin, OS and other info that is available on the OBD2 port?

Just a thought.

Where is the data for the 'generated' file coming from though? (How many beers had you downed when you typed this )

Hahahaha, I'm no software expert but I am having another beer. some other tuning platforms do this, they generate a tune based on , my guess is, vin, os, etc?

I honestly don't know. Sct can generate a stock file for ford based on the strategy code or for 99-07 gm trucks, based on the vin. Just an idea I had.

Cheers!

You would have to be connected online to do this otherwise the tuning software installs would be gigabytes in size to include every option out there.
I suspect they store the 1,000's of base files on their servers and they download what is needed based on some sort of lookup process based on what is in the ECM. But that worries me, you'd have store GM's files on a non GM server :lookaround:
