Please use the attached document template when creating new documents or tutorials for EFILive.

Before any document or tutorial is released under the official EFILive "banner" it must be approved by EFILive. Please do not distribute any documents using EFILive's document format unless it is approved by EFILive.

There are four "fields" used in the document: Title, Author, Creation Date and Last Saved Date. Please change Title and Author using the File->Properties option in Word. Then after you have changed their values, right click on the fields in the document and select "Update field" to cause the fields to show the correct information. Alternatively, select the entire document using Ctrl+A, then press F9 to update all fields in the document.

The date fields will be updated automatically by Word.

To make the document template file (*.dot) to be available in Word, place it in the folder:
\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application data\Microsoft\Templates
where <username> is the name used to log on to windows.

To use the EFILive template, select File->New and choose the EFILive Blank Document template.

If there are any problems using this document template, please post in this thread.

Regards
Paul

Paul, why not consider hosting a wiki ?
That way it stays a live document over which you guys can have editorial control, but is accessible to all for reading and contribution.
I think a document is a bit archaic these days as only one person can work on it at once and nobody else can see it.
Plus it will be out of date as soon as its "done"
What do you think? Im sure one of us IT types can help with setting up a wiki on the host server(s).

A wiki is a great idea and it has my full support.
I have had an offer for a wiki to be set up and hosted by one of EFILive's customers. I need to follow it up.

The document format has been made available if and when it is needed.

Paul

Is this section of the Forum limited to the Beta Testers' and/or not open to the "general public"?

Just curious, as I'd like to see any "proprietary" items far removed from potential miscreants; yea, even official templates and logos!

Paul, BTW, an interesting book that fits with your sig, if you have some free time to read: "The Omnivore's Dilemma" by Michael Pollan.
