View Full Version : Motor will not run with AutoVE SD tune

I have done everything I need to the tune that the tutorial covers and double-checked that everything was correct. I disconnected my MAF and used jumper wires from the cable to the MAF connector to keep the IAT info.

The problem is, it is very hard to get started and when it does finally crank it will shut off if the rpms drop below 1200rps. It also took about 30 times trying to crank just to get it to fire and run any length of time with my foot on the gas holding the rpms where it wanted them.

My motor is NA, 410ci, and just put on a 90mm FAST intake. My VEs were pretty decent before the intake, but changing the throttle body, intake, and fueling system (toned down fp to 58psi was 65psi), it is justa little harder to dial them in. Was hoping the AutoVE would get them closer than I ever could manually.

Any help would be appreciated. I apologize for asking, I know there are a ton of questions on here about the AutoVE. I only saw one other that was having cranking problems and it turned out to be one of his sensors. Mine are all in tact.

When I did my h/c and 90/90 I had to lower my Cranking VE by as much as 40% in some spots. To get it to fire try -20% then -10% increments. I found that I was putting way too much fuel in. Also, make sure you didn;t do what I did: Bad Autotune Setup with MAF (http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?t=3018) Your symptoms sound a lot like what I had.

The step that has you raise your VE table by 15% may be too much in your case. What kind of AFR's were you seeing while it was running?

I didn't do what you did on that, but may try to adjust my cranking VE, which I did not touch.

I think you may be right. Would it mess anything up to just use the main VE from my previous tune to start out with?

Problem is, I have driven around trying to adjust my VEs to within -3 to 0 and have been fairly unsuccessful. Before when I had the truck intake, no matter which way I drove, even towing, they were where they should be. With this intake it has been difficult to do. When I see that I'm a little lean, say 5 to 6 on ltrims, I adjust my VE up as little as 2% and go to -12 on my ltrims. I'm not 100% sure everything is operating correctly, like maybe my MAP sensor isn't reading correctly or making a good seal. Maybe something else is hay-wire, but have no set SESs.

Also changed everything for fueling. I have a return type system that had a vacuum referenced FPR and went to a non-vacuum ref and just scaled my IFR table. Stock table was one setting all the way across.

Post pic of your current IFR table.

What is the best way of doing that?

This is what it looks like:

LABELS Injector Flow Rate (Grams/Second)
Manifold Vacuum kPa {link: GM.MANVAC} Value
0 6.109375
5 6.148438
10 6.187500
15 6.226563
20 6.257813
25 6.296875
30 6.335938
35 6.375000
40 6.406250
45 6.445313
50 6.484375
55 6.515625
60 6.554688
65 6.585938
70 6.625000
75 6.656250
80 6.695313

These are SVO 42s, running at 58psi.

Jesse, never did hear anything from you.

Anyone else got any ideas?
