Hello,

I'm a first time user of v3 and am having a terrible time getting setup to scan. It looks like everything is good to go until I actually attempt to record or monitor a scan of the truck. I can:

1. Auto detect the ECM and TCM without issues
2. Select PID's from the right window and import them to the left window
3. Save the config then select the data tab to start seeing data.
4. I click the `start monitoring` button (yellow) and it spins for a moment, then says that it could not connect to the scanner

Once this happens, my FSv3 is totally locked up... I cant even use the directional arrows to select other options at all. I end up having to disconnect the cables, let it sit until it eventually loses enough power to shutdown.

Any ideas what can be causing this or how to begin troubleshooting? Im going to try this on my 2005 Escalade when the wife gets home later

Thanks in advance

What V8 software version do you have installed...?

What FSV3 firmware version...?

I'll double check and get back to you... I installed the latest of everything though... a totally new/fresh install of the v8 software, then I left the FSv3 update firmware to the latest. I'll get exact numbers today

Can you please log this issue on our help desk: https://service.efilive.com/new-ticket
Please include the appropriate log file(s), in this case the *.htx log file that you can manually save (after the fault occurs and before closing or unplugging any thing), using the EFILive Control Panel -> [F8: Save Trace] option.
Regards
Paul
