V8.3.31 Public Beta Release

Be careful when installing the beta software on your production systems. It is possible that the beta test software may fail and your production system may not be recoverable. If you conduct a tuning business, please take the necessary precautions to protect your business. EFILive recommends beta testers use a separate FlashScan V3/V2 device (when installing the latest beta firmware) and only install the EFILive beta software on a separate PC, laptop or virtual machine.

The current public release is available here (https://www.efilive.com/download-efilive).

After installing this release you should have the following software and firmware versions installed:

[*=1]EFILive V8 software: V8.3.31
[*=1] FlashScan/AutoCal V3 Firmware: V3.00.100

Known Limitations:

Limitation #1: When logging DMA PIDs (i.e., PIDs whose names end with "_M" or "_DMA"), if the ignition is switched off for an extended period while data logging but data logging is not terminated, then when the ignition is switched on again the data log automatically continues. However, the DMA PIDs may no longer return valid data.
Workaround: EFILive recommends stopping the data log and restarting the data log when switching off the ignition for extended periods.

Limitation #2: When opening CMF (CM2450B) Cummins 2022 tune files, the EFILive software will complain with the following message:
24270
That is expected and the message may be ignored. We have only added the option to open CMF 2022 stock files so that EFILive can flash stock files. EFILive cannot be used to update the check sums of modified files. Modified files cannot be flashed.
Ignore the message if you are opening and flashing a 100% stock tune file. Do not attempt to flash a modified file, it will fail at the end of the flash and the vehicle will be left in a no-start condition until a stock file is flashed in.
Workaround: None.

Known Issues:

None.

"Added Pro Tuning option to bypass flash restrictions on ECMs that cannot be identified, for the following ECM types: E01, E41, E88, E90, E93, E99 and T87A."
Would you mind to illustrate this point please ?
will there be future support for E90 or E99 ? 2022 GM trucks ?

Those controllers are currently supported for flashing. Some tuners have requested to be able to flash their own custom** modified tune files that may not be "recognized" by the EFILive software as compatible with the target controller.
With this new option the tuner can choose to override the built in EFILive protection and force the EFILive software to flash the ECM/TCM with the selected file.
However that comes with the risk of bricking the controller - which is why it is only available with the Pro Tuning License.

** I.e. some tuners are working hard to figure out ways to bypass the built in security on those controllers. This option gives them greater flexibility to flash in data/files that may not be 100% expected/standard.

Right now we (EFILive) don't have any plans to offer calibration mapping (i.e. editing) support for those controllers. However, they all support user defined calibration mapping via cax8 files. Some tuners may provide calibration mapping themselves. If they do, they can use the cax8 encryption option to sell those calibrations to other EFILive tuners while protecting their IP.

The biggest problem right now is the digital signature protection that prevents those late model years from being flashed with custom files.

Paul

any base stock files for these new suported ecu ?
You will likely need to get them from SPS and use the tool to generate a valid bin file for them.
What ECM do you want a base calibration for?

There's a new "Import from TIS" option that will import the encrypted/compressed TIS files from GM.

Awsome feature, one last question e41 and the other new chevy ecu only flash stock or can also flash modified files ?

Most new ECM's that GM are releasing (2022 onwards) are secured with a digital signature.
The list of ECMs is pretty much the list in the new TIS import feature in the V8 tools window.

Those ECMs can only be flashed with stock files. The stock files have been signed by GM as "OK to flash".
Modified files have not been signed by GM so the ECM will reject them at the end of the flash.
