I was asked this this morning on a board I post at, and I liked my reply so much I wanted to share it. :)

Question:
"...Zone Labs has a special letter to pre-W2K users on its download page. It says they're "inherently more vulnerable to attacks than newer operating systems. Now that Microsoft will no longer provide security updates to these operating systems any PC running them will become increasingly prone to security vulnerabilities." What do you think of this?

My reply:

How many people driving 1977 Fords or watching black and white TV's worry about carjackings or buglaries?

Actually, IMHO the camps are the poor and unable to migrate to XP/Vista and the savvy and skilled who know a good thing when they see it - plus those in that camp have all the resources pooled to 'keep an eye' on the cretins who may want to steal my Tin Foil Rabbit ears and my Lawrence Welk 8 track collection.
