This is the first time ive ever seen this and cant figure it out.
Turbo 383
60# Deatshwerks
OLSD COS3

Im seeing the this PID was pulling timing "EST - Trans Torque Reduction Spark Retard". So i removed all torque reduction i could find in the trans. IT did get better but its still not holding timing like it should.

Running out of ideas fast on this one.
Before removing all the torque reduction the timing was going some kinda crazy even out of boost.

check out around frame 30,000 and it shows Trans Torque reduction spark retard going crazy and then im thinking that is triggering Burst knock timing retard as well.

Ive used these injectors on several dozen turbo trucks and no issue. Next i think im going to scale the injectors back some to keep me more on the spark table.
Delivered engine torque is showing 525ftlb at 2500rpms on 10psi and 1.43G/cyl. Boost VE table is at 105% with BEN at 1.01.
if i could get some timing in it would feel pretty torque

Had transmission failure so havent been able to try the scaled injectors..
Anybody have a idea on what could be causing the weird timing issues?

Your IAT is too high.

Your IAT is too high.

Your thinking IAT being about 135-140* is causing me issues?
I told him he needs a larger intercooler but just wants to get it running decent before he upgrades.

I get higher IATs than that in my trucks, non-intercooled Whipples, and I don't seem to suffer with timing getting pulled like that.

Ive never had that issue before either.. thats why i was asking..
When they get transmission fixed i plan on scaling the injectors so i can keep boost timing on the main spark table and see if that helps some of the weird timing issues.

I'm curious to see the fix here. I've really had the itch lately to change out the Whipple for a turbo as I'd like to see greater than 120kpa here at altitude (and lower IATs) which would put me in the same spot you're in, so something for me to watch out for.

I like the turbo stuff cause you can pick your boost level with a $20 air pressure regulator.

So i ended up scaling injectors 20% and 20% to VE table. AFR is still right on the money and im back on the Spark table now. Had to do some adjusting to the transmission pressure and its doing good now.

Transmission pump puked so waiting on that to be fixed.
But found out this thing does not want much timing in boost on 89 octane. I think im going to have to get him to use 93 octane.

So was 20% enough to keep from blowing the lid off of B5913?

Yep. Never seen that happen in 20 years of tuning.
Come to find out the earlier style pump was put in a later style case so it wasn't getting any lube to 4th planetary
