Hello,

My tuner and I have been stuck trying to get the lockup to work on a Manualised 4L60e Reverse pattern valve body.

The valve body only allows lockup when in 4th only. It how its been engineered.
The wiring is correct back to the ls1 PCM & the TCC can be switched on using a scan tool manually via the ODBC port. – All good works.

My thoughts are since the shift
Solenoid A,
Solenoid B,
3-2 Solenoid,
EPC Solenoid
& Trans Temp Sensor
are deleted and no longer plugged into the loom, the PCM will not activate the TCC as it doesn’t have enough inputs trigger it on.

I thought the TPS & VSS Sensor would be enough to trigger the TCC when the parameters were met in the PCM as programmed in EFI Live.

My question is what else does the LS1 PCM require as input to make the TCC work?

The car is otherwise a standard 2000 Holden Commodore with a factory fitted LS1/4l60E

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Steven Kirk

Updated.

Plugged all the sensors back into the factory loom above. TCC Still won't engage.

What is your issue then?

Hello Highlander,

My apologies, only half the post saved. Please have a read again.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Steve.

odd, my post text did not show up.

can you post your tune file for us to take a look.

also can you confirm you still have your brake pedal switch wiring still tied into the computer?

I don't have my tune file on my computer and I can rarely get a hold of my tuner.

Last time I spoke to him he set everything back to the default when it came to the transmission setting (hope that helps?)

The brake pedal switch to deactivate the TCC is operational when it was working.

Look at all the DTC/error tables, and disable all the ones for the solenoids that have been deleted. Make sure none of these DTC's show up.

Then look at all the TCC tables to see if there exist any conditions that might avoid TCC lock.

To fool the PCM, might have to manipulate all the shift tables so the PCM thinks each shift occurred.

I plugged all transmission solinoids back in on a loom.

No luck.

Total guess but... Does it know it's in gear (i.e. could it be defaulting to p/n)?

Hi SSdpDmon,

When I plug in the scan tool it knows that the car goes 1st and then 2nd gear and thats it. (without sensors plugged in)
With all the sensors plugged in it will hit 3rd. I have also wired a resistor in the transmission temp sensor which tells the computer its okay to command lockup.

However, no luck the PCM still won't command lockup at the set speed.

I wish I knew what other parameters it needs to turn the TCC SOL on.
