long story, 6.7 Cummins. programmed with Auto Cal. driving and truck just shut off. lost communication with ECM. was able to program it again not realizing it was a different VIN than the ECM originally. trying to reload the tunes back in and getting a $053E VIN Security Restriction, .ctz file does not match controller vin.


is there a way to overwrite this and get the correct vin back in to the ecm so i can reload the tunes?

You’re getting the $053E error because the VIN in the .ctz file doesn’t match the ECM’s VIN. To fix this, you’ll need to use EFILive’s VIN license reset or relink feature—contact EFILive support with proof of ownership to request a VIN license reset or VIN change for that ECM.
