Not concerned about mapping, I can handle that fine. Just curious if it can write.

my reply below is more for the petrol vehicles with the 6l80's, so probably not the same for the diesel stuff.

You can write to all years, but to swap between say 24243170 to 24249179. you require the pro tuning license.

If you try and write anything never than 9179 to an 09 & below controller, if it will stay in recovery mode as the programming is incompatible. Same deal with any newer TCM & loading in an old OS.

I know the Aisin can be written to can checksum corrections made but no mapping is provided. Curious if the same is true with 2007.5-2009 68RFE. Mapping I can deal with. Well aware of changing OS on the Cummins trucks ECM’s. Not what I’m asking about here.

opened up the 2009 file I got from an HP Tuners readout and it opens and sees its a NGC4 TCM but has no checksum correction available.
