View Full Version : Throttle Closure

RC2

Hello all, after a few years I'm still left battling E92 throttle closures without much solid help. I'm attaching a log with the focus being on frame 37810-37850. This is an LV3 V6 out of a Silverado, transplanted in my 3rd gen Camaro, 228/230 @.050 camshaft, 67mm turbo, and a stock MAF with a breakout harness for the Baro sensor.
I was previously able to get WOT for a limited time, but today for some reason it left the TPS at 50% or so with 100% pedal. I fully believe it has to do with the relationship between IMM TQ, PRED TQ, and ACT TQ, but the amount of contradicting information out there is astounding. The Commanded Power tables have been raised in the 75% and up columns, so I don't believe that is an issue.
I've attched both the tune file and log in case anyone would like to have a quick look.

I do find it hard to believe that after a year there has been no response to this. I am still battling this without much success.

I believe all the later Di ecu's are torque based, so your likely going to need to modify the virtual torque tables in V8. judging by the log it appears your still using v7.5

They are definitely torque based, and I have been logging all of the Torque PIDS trying to sort out what is happening. It seems as if the Predicted Torque is now hitting a limit of 295 ft.-lbs and I'm not sure why. Driver Demand has been raised in the last rows well above that level, and Max Torque is as well.
This will sound like a silly question possibly, but are the values in Virtual Torque the values that are reported in Torque Actual in the log?

ive not played with any torque based ecu's myself, but i do know that playing with the torque calcs on the e38 ecu etc it will change whats reported.

What transmission? Is the E92 running an auto cal & your trans is manual?

That tune and log file were with the 6L80E transmission in it. I actually currently have a TH400 in it withe the TECHM still plugged in. The issue I'm having now is that the Predicted Torque seems to have a 295 ft-lb. limit for some reason. I thought it might be the TCM Error Torque limiting, but I raised that with no change. Here's a quick snip of a log from the other day.

You mean you have a standalone T43 TCM out of a 6L80 attached to an operating E92 in car & street driving/logging?

That is correct, it is a 2014 Silverado 4.3 E92 with a 2011 Camaro 6L80E. It's been running for a few years, but we hurt the transmission on the road at Drag Week last year. I've since put a TH400 in it while I rebuild the 6L80E, but I've just attached the T43 TECHM to the harness to avoid the issue with missing PRNDL status etc.

Good chance lack of operational in range CAN data trans to ECM has some limits coming into effect

I do have the Internal Mode Switch set to Gear 1 so that no P or N limiters are set, so throttle response is as normal. I should add that the throttle closure issue has existed as well with the 6L80E still in the car.

A 2014 DI E92 ECM & 2011 TCM - bit of a mismatch possibly, plus now with th400 & ghost TCM, rationality checks failing likely arc up some limiters. Unique combo - was the 6L80 from the Camaro a V6 also?

The 6L80 was from a Camaro SS.

Probably worth tracking down a T43 OS & calibration that matches the E92. I.e. same year & engine. A 2011 SS T43 OS/cal pair with an E38 doesn't use commanded torque.
