In 2 plus hours lost so far

Completely offline ie no internet.

Plugged in to do a scan, scanner said update required
used less then 2 yrs ago without any issues... So why a forced update to
scan a ecu that is 15 yrs old ?

hot spot in for what i thought would be less then 5 mins..

updated it, restart, tried again still said same thing with the check firmware then,

updated firmware, restart tried again same thing

Updated config files, restart tried again same things

Updated firmware yet again, restart tried again.... flashscan v2 stuck in orange flashing
and telling me forced update to 2.08.209 but lose all connection to 7.5.....

All this for a 15-20 min scan i needed to do a vehicle....

STUCK dead in the water in forced updates and flashscan stuck flashing orange.

Now anyone have a sub 1 hour way to fix all this crap... beyond frustrated. Not been
this disappointed in a product in many yrs.

Need working version for using 7.5 with the correct setup for v2 (firmware/config)

Any help much appreciated and apologize for the tone....

Mine would show update required but never updated it.
THen went to V8.3.7 and been using that ever since without issue.
V7.5 im using V7.5.36.

You cant load a previous Firmware in the V2 is the only issue.
Are you using V8 to do the firmware loading?

Thank you for answering!
I was trying to use V7.5 Scan tool to check and reset the ethanol mixture on my daughter's '09 Impala. When I tried to connect it told me to update the firmware on my Flashscan V2, so I went to update it (using V8), but then it told me I wouldn't be able to use V7.5 anymore. So I canceled the update and gave me the message that V2 was locked out (dead poll, blinking orange lights) until I updated the firmware.

I went ahead and did the firmware update since V2 was basically bricked until I went through with it. After the update to the latest Boot Block, Firmware, and Configuration files, my V2 now works again. I was able to run V7.5 Scan tool and reset the ethanol mixture like I needed to, so all is good for now, but I guess I just have to do everything through V8 now, is that right? Sorry for the newbie questions, I used to be really active in LS tuning for many years and always preferred the V7.5 interface but have been out of the game for several years now so I'm not that used to V8.

Scan and Tune versions (updated as of Friday 21-Feb.).
7.5.51
8.4.71

Thanks again for the help!

It takes a little while to get use to V8 but i only use it now. Onlything i use V7.5 now for is some older CAX Files for LS1B pcms.

I have found that when I try to open a file in 7.5, and then try and execute a read or flash or whatever, I will get a message of 7.5 incompatibility and a hard stop. I then found that if I then close the file, and then open V7.5 from the root executable (not clicking on a cal file), it automatically defaults to opening the last file I was trying to use, and the compatibility messages cease. An odd work around.

He means the program itself, i.e. in C:\Program Files or a shortcut linking to it.
