Make sure you "Save As" the file after changing VIN so it will update it.

Okay thank you, when i bought my auto cal i bought it through dirty diesel customs with ccs tunes. Would ccs potentially lock my controller or anything?

Have you opened your tune files in V8 yet? If you have, does it prompt you that the tune file is locked to your AutoCal Serial number? You can flash over any Cummins ECM's with Full Flash. To answer your question the tuning will not lock you up, but the security restrictions of the AutoCal will. Make sense?

Why are you wanting to reflash to stock, if you don't mind me asking?

I have not i saved them but i did not open them. Okay i think i know what you mean. Its a shitty situation i bought the truck from a dealer a few months ago and done a few upgrades to it like the delete and some other things and the other day i noticed the chassis was cracked right where the previous owner had plow brackets on the truck. So no im retuning it to stock and sending it back to the dealer and hoping they are going do something for me.

Just use the 2021 calibration that’s in one of the threads, it is 100% CP3, clean and won’t have anyone’s junk in it

Problem with using 2021 file is lack of true CSP with good logging capabilities
