Figure this out.

3 guys eat a meal and are charged $30, they split it 3 ways and pay the waiter $30, he takes it to the till and finds out that the meal was acutally $25.

The waiter returns to the table with the $5 change in $1 bills. The 3 guys take $1 each and give the waiter the other $2 for his tip.

That now means each guy has paid $9 (the $10 they paid, less the $1 change) for his meal and the waiter has $2.

So 3 guys x $9 = $27 add the waiters $2 and you get $29. Where did the other $1 go?

My dad thinks I am so bright he calls me his son.

Anyways. sometimes Google takes all the fun out of life.... ;)

(Hint, the difference is not the same as the actual amount.)

The bill was 25. Each guy paid 9, or 27 total. The waiter received a 2 dollar tip.

25 for the meal plus 2 for the tip equals 27. Works out quite well.

Is there a PID for this?

You need two calc pids:

CALC.ESTABLISHMENT.GOT = TILL.DRAWER.AMOUNT + WAITER.POCKET.AMOUNT
CALC.THREEGUYS.SPENT = GUY1.PAID.AMOUNT + GUY2.PAID.AMOUNT + GUY3.PAID.AMOUNT

(since the waiter is a part of the establishment)

Yeah turns out its an oldy with a logical answer.
Still, makes you weird out initially.

My road runner has arrived, gets dropped off tomorrow!

Next step is dyno time for Mr Spark Timing.
