Hello,
Any feedback would be much appreciated.
I have a 2007 Silverado 1500 4WD that was originally a 5.3/4L80 with a TPM outside of the trans, and it is an E38 ECU, that I blew up the motor. I have the chance to get a 2012 L77 6.0L from a Police Pursuit Vehicle (PPV). I get the Motor and Trans (6L80E) , the ECU but no harness, it is non 4WD, but I can convert it to the 4WD output shaft and I can convert the tail housing to mate up with Transfer Case so mechanically speaking this should be relatively easy.
I have in the past, numerous times, tore open wire harnesses to repair/validate circuits/add wires that need to be there for the changes I want to do, just not GM harnesses, mainly JDM harnesses. I am very familiar with reading wiring diagrams adding wires to a harness, etc.
My concern is the lack of information I find on the internet from an electrical diagram specific to the 2012 L77 E38 ECU harness so that I can modify my original harness to work with the new E38ECU I would be adding. That is my concern and if I can either turn off or disable everything I need to so the motor and ECU function in my truck.
Would I be crazy for attempting this or am I overthinking this and it's relatively simple if I can find the wiring diagrams for the ECU, or should I just buy a 2012 L77 E38 car wiring harness and start from there?
Any feedback would be much appreciated.
