I have been working for the last month on a Allison 1000 stand alone control system for BKFABWORKS. After a Few revisions but now I have a working setup that is a little different than what's out there. The system is based on a LLY Duramax but could be reworked to be based off a LB7 system. It uses the ECU, TCM, and a BCM I had on hand for tow haul control. The system uses minimal inputs to the stock 1995 5.9L 12V its going into. A couple being 12v constant, 12v switched, ground, brake pedal input, reverse light trigger, crank signal, mil light control, and 4wd sense. Optional inputs are Tach & VVS which can be used. The OBD2 connector has a jumper along with the APP sensor which go into the cab for Diagnostics & or running a CTS or similar device for live data. I left a few sensor inputs to the ECU such as boost/map, baro, IAT, coolant temp, fuel pressure, fuel temp, annd oil pressure for use in the 12V Cummins motor. I rescaled the engine side of the calibration to delete items not in use and rescaled some sensors to a appropriate scale with the 12V Cummins such as fuel pressure since we can only read going into the P7100 which with the air dog should be around 30 psi max. Here is a little log of where Im at it will be installed soon on the truck and any adjustments after will be made on the truck.
The Allison side of the harness is set up for a 6 speed 2013 LML transmission the controller is a AL5 and will use 1-6 gears and has the tow haul option enabled I used one of 6 speed conversion valve bodies and a range sensor for testing on my bench. I remapped the TCM for the 5.9L Cummins engine which does have a 4k spring so we should be able to push 3200 no problem. It was quite a feat getting it to all work, I started with a AL5 only harness but with the AL5 I was having issues reading the TPS since it was set up with my GM 6 speed conversion file. Now I'm not 100% sure but but im pretty sure it was reading TPS but EFI Live doesn't have a PID for the AL5 TPS input for MD applications. So in the end I reworked the harness and added the LLY ECU I had on hand and a few other parts and boom a working setup with proper tps.
I attached some pics and logs of the system I'm really happy I could get it working I wasn't sure what could and not be done as far as making a like OEM system. In the log I cycle the pedal, I cycle the tow haul switch, and cycle the range sensor.
The swap harness was designed to mount on the driver side fender well area behind the battery and I laid it out on the bench similar to how it will mount on the truck. I will upload some pics as well just cant wait to get it shipped annd installed on the truck. The ECM had a DSP5 on it to start with so I left it on there but might go to a stock OS and move my changes over.
