I Previously had a non vgt turbo in my LLY Duramax and had tuning written for that. I have now switched back to VGT and had tuning written for it i have a ton of turbo lag and the vane postion sensor always reads 100% i have taken the sensor out and actuated it with my finger and nothing and when i unhook the sensor i get no codes i have checked all the wiring and tried 2 more brand new sensors. i contacted the tuner and they say the new tunes are for the new vgt turbo, My question is, is it possible that they didnt change it to vgt seeing as how i get no codes and the tunes are wrong.

Think you already got the answer over on Duramax Diesels, but almost certainly fried driver circuit in the ECM from running a non vgt turbo. Don't know why it fries, but

Unless you post some logs and the current tune file, this forum may not be able to help. The vane position-boost relationship is easy to diagnose. Your turbo lag issue with full vane actuation suggests you have a hardware issue, like a turbo that is much too large, or a serious intake restriction.
