i skimmed through the stock files for manual transmissions and noticed that it still had the auto transmission folder like most G56 Tune files that are found in these "stock tunes" from these forums. does the 68rfe/auto transmission folder appear in the F5: edit / calibration folder when dealing with factory files for a G56? my E/C is CM90012.07....PLEASE HELP

You only need to make one post about it.
CM90012.10 is the oldest version of that calibration with EFI editing support.
All G56 trucks will have the 68rfe section of the calibration. It does not function on the manual calibration, so just ignore it.

thankyou for sharing. i have a question, i thought that using an original 68rfe file creates a "ghost transmission" scenario that may cause issues like the ECU always looking for sensors that dont exist (lost communication codes). the ecu might hang the RPMs in-between shifts expecting the nonexistent torque converter to absorb. it might disable cruise control because it doesnt see the "park/neutral" or "in-gear" signal from the TCU.

If you used a 68rfe file, such as CM90011.11, yes, you would have a calibration with auto functionality enabled, and the truck would lose it's marbles.
But CM90012.10 is a manual transmission file, with all of the automatic functionality disabled. Yes, the tables are still there, but they do not function. You can ignore them.

Keep in mind, the automatic and manual trucks use the same operating system, with a different calibration build within it. CM90011.11 and CM90012.10, for example, are both 22.11.07.08 Operating Systems. As far as EFILive is concerned, they are the same and it loads the same tables. But within the calibration of CM90012.10, the 68rfe functionality is disabled.

Make sense?
