Good morning gents,

I have a 2006 LBZ that I put a 4" intake on. The truck was already tuned (not by me) and after the intake install it seems like I have more black smoke than I did before when laying on the throttle. I am curious if I need to rescale the MAF and if so, how do I do that?

One other thing, when I installed the intake, I put on another set of tunes at the same time. This may also be my problem, but I want to be sure that I am set up correctly on the MAF side of things. Even if I do go back to the other set of tunes, I am pretty sure I will need to rescale the MAF anyway since that was setup for a stock airbox.

Here is a log I did. It is my understanding that the MAF reading should be around 39 g/s at idle. I am at 59 g/s at idle.

A little confused. You are correct that your MAF is reading too high. But is that with the stock MAF-voltage table? Or one provided in custom tuning?

You would get overfueling during acceleration attempts with a MAF reading that is too high. If using the stock table now, reduce all the MAF values by 25%. Here is the stock table B0201

That log is with custom tuning, it is NOT tuned for the larger intake.
Interestingly, the custom tuning (both different files I have) have higher than stock values for the MAF table. I will replace those with the stock values and then drop it by 25%.

Over the weekend I did actually end up bringing it down quite a bit and I got my readings pretty close, averaging at 42 g/s at warm idle. I was running from a rain storm so I quit tuning it.

The intake I am using is a WCFab 4" intake just as a piece of information.
