View Full Version : Effects of changing B0120?

Was looking at a tune done on my dad's Magnacharged C5. The tuner set B0120 to 400rpm. Doesn't this essentially eliminate the VE? If so, why isn't this a common practice. Then all we would have to do is set the injector tables and dial in the MAF & PE tables to adjust fueling, right? Or is this just something ideal for forced induction cars?

If MAF fails then there would be no failover for airmass.

Granted, you're taking a gamble on a MAF failure. But, how often does that really happen?

Actually, I think if you set P0102 you will fall into SD .
Otherwise, we would have no action above 4k

ok, that's right... I knew that...
lol... my previous post was too early :bash: , caffeine hadn't spooled up yet... :D ...earh... "I was testing you" :D
I still think it would run just fine on all MAF regardless of NA/FI.

I'm half tempted to try it on my h/c setup...

shouldn't hurt. I would think you induce more drivability issues in the low (0-3k rpm) area. mass flow sensors like a nice steady flow.

You're right, MAF's like steady flow.
A screened MAF probably has a steady flow, especially if used with the stock F-body baffled lid.
I think I might experiment with it.

been playing with a MAF tune for a couple of days now, takes a bit to get frequency-g/s dialed with your fuel trims, havent had any problems, car runs good, 2002 ss, 8 psi procharger are my only engine mods for now...

and yes, still have screen in MAF sensor

I think the screen will help a lot 2k-4k range - especially with a cam. But then there's reversion, blah blah blah, blah blah blah.
Will definitely be a good tuning challenge

It's good to see my thread has taken such an enlightened direction. :)
BTW, I think I saw your muf box on the side of I-75 here in Detroit.
