This might be a dumb question, but here goes:

I know that in order to upgrade my C5 OS (359), I need to flash it with a 2001+ system, with all my current OS tables copied over. But does it matter which year I use? I noticed on Holden Crazy that there were several different OS's used from year-to-year. Also, I noticed that '04 Vettes use a 1 MB PCM, while all the others use a 512K.

Is there a preferred system, and which one might that be?

Thanks in advance!
Brent

You're PCM will only be a 512kb version so obviously that is going to rule out the latter versions :)

I would try and go up to the 2003 Corvette OS as that is still on the 512kb PCM. You will see, if you compare all the tables in the different 01, 02 etc.) OS's that the tables are pretty much identical...

If you find that the 03 OS just doesn't work (like the car won't start), then try and 02.

Is your throttle cable or ETC?

Thanks Andrew...I'll start with the '03 and go from there! :thankyou2:
By the way, it's ETC.

No worries mate!!! I figured it would be ETC, I think all Vettes are (but, I never owned or seen one) :)

Chime in with any more questions and we'll have you sorted.

If you are planning on using one of the custom OS's in the future, I think you will need to upgrade to an '02 os to take full advantage of the custom OS's.

And welcome to the forum.

Thanks!

I've only been tuning for about a month, and I'm already addicted...the more I learn, the more I want to know!

EFILive is definately one of the best mods you can have. There is always something you can tweak ;)
