View Full Version : New Feature Suggestion

I would like to put in a request for another software feature that I thought would be handy for the RR. Whilst on the dyno, starting from scratch with a new car, new combo doing the AutoVE I found it interesting that as I "shot big" (richening up) to get the initial idle down I noticed that the longer you log real time the changes you make take a little longer to show up as I think since I am seeing an "average" reading per cell it takes more real time counts to show an effective change-not just transients-well I would like to be able to hit the "clear sheet" button without having to stop the scanner and go thru the save log jazz so I can refresh readings. With the RR I find myself not having to save as many logs anymore as I can now see the effective changes as they happen and imediately act on them. Whereas before I could get rapped around the axel with one or two "transients" now I get the feedback. I know this just sounds like a spoiled child whining for more but that's just the way it goes when you are dining at the gold troff. Anybody else run into such a thing or have any other observations with their RRs that they would like to share? Thanks again Craig, Geoff, Paul, and Ross for such wonderful products that really do work well together.

I do the same thing. I think that would be a nice addition.

+1. This comes from my tinkering with the BiDi.
If you guys show enough data on a chart, you can train your eye to get a visual of the effect rather than relying on the MAP averages.

Nice idea. It's on the list of things to do. :)

Having now used the RoadRunner for a couple of weeks now this would be a pretty cool and useful addition!!
It would also be nice to include a preference setting to decide if you want to save the log using the defined logfile template or simply discard when the sheet is "cleared".

Mine is showing up tomorrow!
Count me in! I know DOC and I spoke about this a couple weeks ago so I understand what he is talking about. Can't wait to start playing!

Totally!!! Now I just need to find a way to get the cable nicely through the firewall. Hopefully going to do that today, and if not then take it to a stereo installer cause it will be a simple proposition for them :)

I think you are right mate!!! I had a look yesterday and again tonight and I'm buggered if I can find a way to get the cable in there cleanly - given that this cable will stay there full time :help2:

Why not put the Roadrunner behind the passenger's kick panel ,move it away from all that heat under the bonnet.
The cables will reach you will only have too lenghten the radiater bottle level sensor wire.
I do have instructions somewhere if you require.

Hmm.. That sounds interesting!! I don't see it going eaily through where t is now. I was going to see if I could get a replacement end for the RoadRunner, then I could chop the cable end off and just rewire it after i stuff it through the hole :)

Thanks for the info!!! Sounds like a daunting task :)
I wonder if I could bundle the RoadRunner cable in with the main loom somehow and put through that main loom hole....
I have ordered an additional USB cable should I want to use it on other cars, and just PM'd Craig Moates to see if he can send me another/spare connector end. That way I can just cut off, puke small gauge cable through somewhere and then rewire the new connector on.
