Do you get an error message when you try to read the PCM? If so, what is it?

It says "Bootloader rejected.
Reason:
EFILIve could not unlock the PCM.
If the PCM is locked and you know the unlock key , please enter it .
If this PCM was locked by FlashScan then you MUST unlock
the PCM using the SAME Flashscan interface that used to lock it ."
When I close out the error message and the dispaly readies it self again I see in the line of text PCM SEED is $36BE , strange but it will not unlock it .

What year 4.2L I6 LL8 is it? If its an 06+, EFILive doesnt support it yet. I have an 02 LL8 and have been tuning it since May, so I know LL8 tuning works.

Good to hear .
Yes it is a 06 , can't wait to tinker with the Trailblazer , I hear they come alive with a little tweaking .
WHAT IS THE HOLD UP ? :Eyecrazy: :)

Hold up is the release of FlashScan V2, the biggest thing since sliced bread. It will be out soon accompianed by an update for the LL8 PCM software, hopefully more tuning parameters.

And, yes, they do come alive with a little tweaking here and there, start with TQ Reduction and TQ Management settings and PE stuff. Adjust trans pressures and timings helps a lot too.

Thanks for the info , will just have to wait :bawl: .

Sorry guys, just came across this thread.
GM changed the LL8 PCM late in the run to one we don't currently support. We planned on adding support for the newer style PCM early in 2007 if all goes to plan.

Cheers,
Ross

Man , bummer .
Wife is pissed , she wanted me to tune her ride (Trailblazer) .
Off subject , what is the best way to deal with the "Spark High-Octane and Low-Octane Tables , VE Tables "?
Is there a rule of thumb , add , subtract , add percentage ?

I think the table names are a bit misleading. Read the description of what the table is. The low octane table is really the lower limit on timing. The high octane table is the upper limit on timing. Since I don't use any gas other than 87, I have been reducing the high octane table to get rid of knock. I monitor knock as a function of MAP and RPM. You can set up the table to match the high/low octane table and record knock. After recording knock, I subtract it from the high octane table then check to make sure that the subtraction didn't bring the high octane spark below the low octane spark. Try this out by adding some degrees to the high octane table (maybe 5 degrees because knock retard can handle that) and you will see that knock starts showing up in more places even though you are using the same octane gas; assuming you haven't filled up.
