Guys, on 2001 blazers (4.3L) there is an air injection system. Basically, it "reduces harmful exhaust emissions by injecting air into each of the exhaust ports of an engine. The fresh air entering the hot exhaust manifold causes. any remaining fuel to be burned before it can exit the tailpipe." My buddy has an 01 and is looking at getting a supercharger and between 01 (air injection) and 02 (no air injection) there is a $1000 difference in the SC kits because the 01 includes a special set of headers. We think it's because the AIR injection gets into the way of the 02 kit, so a special header is needed to get everything to fit.

I plan on getting V2 once it come out later this month, so here's my question, can I tune the AIR injection system out of his computer. The plan would be to remove the pysical system components and then program it out so the computer doesn't set a code. I was thinking I could start with a reflash from an 02 stock file. Thoughts/ideas?

Yes you can tune the air system off with EFI Live on your blazer.

Great, thanks for the reply. I might ressurect this post if I can't figure out where to do that after I'm able to play around with EFI.

I can only reply for the LSx engine and the answer is yes. There is a detailed explanation of what this intails for the LS1 on my www.ls2.com site. It is in the tech forums and is under the "How To" forum information. I'm not sure if the codes will match up for your 4.3 but it should give you an idea of the procedure.
