DSP5 - The 5 position switchable tune

Well folks, you have been asking for it and here it is.
EFILive is proud to announce that our new 5 position switchable on the fly tune is well into Beta testing stage and will be released shortly after SEMA along side the TNT program. If you are coming to SEMA be sure to drop by our booth (#13059) to take a look first hand at DSP5 and the new V2 hardware.

With EFILive being the first to offer all Duramax DIY and professional tuners the ability to create their own switchable tune we've stepped up to our customers requests and created DSP5. This is for both LB7 and LLY.

So how does it work and what are the features?
Simply wire in the switch (which some of our resellers may stock), create your new tunes to switch between in the EFILive software and away you go.
Stock, then Tunes 1 - 4.
But you know we wouldn't stop at just a 'simple' 5 position tune, we've also added another feature called DSP Staging.
DSP Staging allows you to define some thresholds by which the ECM will limit fueling (see pics below). So as an example, you can set it up so at 1800RPM you start to limit fuel to get consistent drag race launches, set the DSP Launch control to bypass the limit above 50% throttle so as soon as you mash the pedal full fueling will occur for the run down the strip.

We also have our controllable output and valet mode, all in all, what more could you want?

Cheers,
Ross

Enjoy the screen shots........

Plenty of choice here.

DSP Staging in action
The top chart log shows the throttle at 25% and the engine doing 1500RPM.
The lower chart shows the throttle now at 60% yet the ECM is maintaining approx 1500RPM even with a throttle increase of 35%. You can see the ECM chopping the main fuel pulse trying to maintain the RPM.

DSP5 Switches
Some EFILive resellers may choose to carry these switches which can be used for the DSP5 program. These will not be sold directly through EFILive. (size is approx 2" in total length).

As with all EFILive software releases, this is another FREE software upgrade for owners of EFILive FlashScan V1 Commercial, and Workshop customers and now FlashScan V2 Scan and Tune customers. We sincerely hope you enjoy your added software enhancement.

We car guys can wire in a Normal/Performance mode switch, can't we...?

It only controls trans setting, trucks have it from the factory. I think COS5 has a little adjustability, but nothing like what they have for the oil burners.

Yup. Valet mode with a top speed of 3mph (so you can walk faster than they can get away) or no Valet mode :D

Unfortunately for the gas cars there is no real point to a switching tune......do you really want to switch between 14.6:1 AFR and 13.0:1 AFR on the fly, there is no benefit, obviously it is a very different story for the Duramax.

MRK, don't laugh at the 1000HP button, these Diesel trucks are getting closer to that being a reality!.

Cheers,
Ross

RossYeh, as KBRacing said, the F-bodies with the Norm/Perf switch used it to switch transmission tables, and had nothing to do with the engine cal.

And I like my shifts positive/firm (not harsh/hard), so why do I need to switch....

lol, Ross, you have made me talk myself out of it... :D

I know this is a old thread but how does the dsp staging work?

Reports where it never worked very well, I don't think the ECM processes the input fast enough.
