when im looking at logs and have my tune open
i see the grey cursor moving this is helpful to me a great feature
but why does it not work on certain tables in the tuning tool?

b1010 rail valve current i have selected all the pids that i think pertain to this
and i can see in the scan tool what the milli amps are but im trying to see where on this table in the tune tool its looking at to get this value

it's probably just something little, but it would really be helpfull if i could see this

I don't have a diesel tune to look at, but make sure all the units (as viewed from the data tab) match the units in the tune tool.

well the units in the data tab dont match making it more difficult to se where its getting the reading from the table
i assume its going between 2 values on the table this would explain the different readings im seeing on the data tab
if this is the case what 2 is it reading?
or am i just doing something wrong?

what I usually do is select all my pid's (on the PID tab), right click, and select metric (my tune tool is in metric). This solves the linking problem. Then in my charts and maps, I display a compination of metric and imperial to my liking.

yes i am using metric for the pids im logging
the selected pid is milli amp readings are milliamps and the b1010 table is also milli amps i have also selected desired and commmanded rail current
and selected just amps as well as milli amps

what is the difference between commanded and desired

i understand the desired boost and actual boost

but desired and commanded??

thanks for the replys

I don't know anything about diesels, but in the cal_link.txt file "B1010.ROW=GM.MAINRATE". I think you have to log this PID in order to see what you want. If you are already then :nixweiss: .

i have recorded a huge log with WOT mid throttle no throttle its not moving
ill keep trying with different pids that is probably what im doing wrong
thing is im running out of pids that i think relate to this

You may have done this already, but in case you haven't, open the Scan Tool and go to the PIDS page. Right click the mouse on the GM.MAINRATE gauge face. If the ? next to More Info is highlighted click on it. It will tell you what PIDS are associated with GM.MAINRATE. Mine doesn't highlight, but I don't know if that is because there are no dependencies or I don't have a diesel VIN opened.

Hope that helps.

yes i did try that also even with the VIN # for a diesel it does not allow you to highlight it
there is a couple other PIDS that also wont allow you to do this

thanks for the tip though
