View Full Version : Using EFILive scanner with an ODBII LT1

I've purchased EFILIVE and have been sucessfully using it with my '97 LT1 for a few months. Most all of the important GM extended parameters I need are recognized, except one: Knock Retard.

I did some research and found docs that indicate the GM PID for "retard due to knock" on an LT1 is $125D. I tried making a custom pid using this, and EFILive actually did validate the PID and start logging it. However, the pid only ever came up as zero (ive verified i have knock retard using my autotap setup).

I'm not sure what else i could try -- its just seems strange that this one PID would not work when most all of the others do. Its also weird that the custom pid is recognized, but comes up with no real data. Are there other scanning modes i could try?

I've added it to gm_enhanced.prn which is attached.

Exit out of both the scan and tune software.
Download the attached zip file, unzip it into:
\Program Files\EFILive\V7\Configuration, overwriting the existing gm_enhanced.prn file.

Test it and let me know if it is ok and I'll include it in the next release.

Regards
Paul

The new prn worked great, I was able to select and log the LT1 knock retard and all the data values were consistant with what i saw from autotap.

Thanks alot!!
