View Full Version : EFILive Connection Problem

First off, I'm new to this forum so if I seem like a newbie to Scanning, that's because I am.
Second, hello to all. This looks like a great forum. A little about myself, I work on large building DDC control systems, so when I bought my '95 Monte Carlo recently, I wanted to get into it's computer (PCM) and resolve a couple of issues.
So far, I've purchased the ALDL cable and downloaded EFI Live, and am using the "1994-95 W Body LQ1" data file.
I have found that my '95 Monte Carlo 3.4 Litre ALDL has only the A and M pins. That explains why jumping the ALDL pins A to B (no wire connected) never caused the CEL to blink anything
Anyways, with EFILive connected, I can see raw data streaming, but cannot get any other features to work.
Could you give me some ideas on what the problem might be?
TIA,

Update: I am able to get the ADLD screen with engine coolant temp, manifold air temp, throttle %, engine speed, etc., to read out values for a minute or two. But that is the only screen I can get to work besides the raw data screen.
Is this because it is OBD1, or, as I've been told OBD1.5?

The Eval version will only log 30 seconds worth of data. Read the Pro v's Eval page, in the Release Notes section of the users manual to see the other limitations of the Eval version.

Sorry for the late reply, but I was out of town all week and just got back.
Could you post a link to the Release Notes? I'm not having any luck.

No, but if your vehicle's data stream is not available on this page:
http://www.efilive.com/overview_vehicleDef.htm
And if you create a data stream definition for your vehicle and allow us to put it on our downloads page, you will earn a free Pro license.
See here for more details:
