My lm1 was was about .2volts off with my V1 and now with V2 its reading 1.4 or so volts off. With V2 its showing an afr of around 19-20 at idle vs 15. WHats differnt in V2 vs V1? I have ot tune three cars tomorrow so I have to figured it before then.

The V2 has a calibration option and can be calibrated in conjuntion with the LM1. Using the LM1 software, you can configure the LM1 to output a constant voltage. You need to supply two different voltages (say 1V and 4V) to the EFILive calibration process.

Using the EFILive Scan Tool software, connect to FlashScan V2 and then select the menu option: FlashScan->FlashScan V2 Control Panel... and follow the onscreen instructions for calibrating the 5V A/D inputs.

Note: you must also be connected to the vehicle (or PCM bench setup) because the 5V A/D inputs require the 12V power feed from the OBDII connector.

EFILive now ship FlashScan V2 units pre-calibrated. You probably got your V2 before the calibration equipment was in use at EFILive.

seems it could be a goog idea to do the "calibrate" regardless. There can always be slight variations from source to source, would'nt this make up for it a bit ? if not could you explain what the intent of the feature is ?

EDIT: DA! Nevermind just tell me to read the manual !:beer:I'm not proud of this one.

So I need to reconfigure my LM1 to put out a constant voltage? I opened up the calibration in efi and clicked it and it made it worse. What numbers should be in the milivolts window? Im really lost now.

Minytrker - It should definately get better ;)

going from memory:
Open the V2 control panel (in the scan tool)
Configure your LM1 to output 1 volt
In the V2 CP, click the button next to the 1v reference
Configure your LM1 to output 4 volts
In the V2 CP, click the button next to the 4v reference
Then, in the V2 BP, initial the calibration.

Post up if you're still having trouble

LM1 still not reading right. I cant get it to calibrate right in scan tool. I have to tune a car in an hour, please help asap.

What should my LM 1 be set at? My milivolts in scan tool are reading 3500-4500 at idle.

I guess there are two things:

1) The LM-1 needs to be setup to output voltages which match the defined PID(s) in the Scan Tool.

2) You need to have calibrated the V2 so that it reads the voltages output by the LM-1 accurately (as verified by a DMM).

Thanks to Chad (Black02SS) I finally got my V2 calibrated right.

 Glad it is all working out now fine for you. Some things just can't be done over email.

I will be working on a new tutorial for guys that have a LM1/LC1 on how to properly configure the outputs with V2. It isn't that bad once you do it but more detailed instructions are needed IMO.

look forward to that:cheers:

Hey Chad,

Are you just talking about how to get the LC-1 to output 2 static voltages for the purpose of calibration?

Yes please explain. I second guess myself when you mention that it's worthy of tutorial. just static voltages ?
