Whats the correct way to save your tune once your done tuning with the RR and want to swap back to the stock pcm. How do you then flash it into the stock pcm. I clicked or did something wrong today because it took me a few tries to get the stock pcm to work right. I either wasnt ssaving something right or either fashing the pcm wrong.

Save file as per normal and then depending on what OS is in your stock PCM do either a calibration flash or full reflash after you have replaced the road runner with the stock pcm in the car.
Should be fine.
Maybe do a full reflash if you have forgotten what was in there.

I got that part down with no problems. I ran into problems when I went to put the stock pcm back in.

Did you need to turn the security stuff back on, or do a relink?

I didnt have to turn off anything or do a relink.

I just checked, I had it turned off in the tune already. Thats why I didnt have to mess with it.

Thanks mate. Was going to be concerned if you didn't have to do that :)

Andrew mine is still set to class 2.
I've never had an issue with security,so therefore I've never done a relink since running RR .
I thought this would be an issue when I first installed RR but it started right up so I've never given it a second thought.

I did not want to hear that :bawl:

Hmm, wonder what it could be then...

I still want to know the right way to go from RR back to the stock pcm.

OK

1) Download tune from stock PCM
2) Install RoadRunner PCM
3) Flash RoadRunner PCM with file from step 1 (not going through custom OS's etc. here)
4) If the car doesn't start change the G1201 setting to None and reflash
5) Make real time changes until you are completely satisfied with the tune
6) Read image out of RoadRunner PCM
7) Install stock PCM
8) Flash file read from RoadRunner PCM
9) Change G1201 back to standard (and perhaps do a VATS relink)

That should do it.

Hope that helps,

Thats exactly what I did and the car ran real rough. I ended up taking the stock tune and comparing it to the file I downloaded from the rr and coping the differences over.

Those same differences were included in the file that you uploaded back to the stock PCM originally? That seems VERY strange :Eyecrazy:
