View Full Version : What should the External Analog Voltage be?

I'm trying to figure out why EFI live shows a different AFR than my LM1 does. My LM1 and Logworks both show my AFR being leaner than what EFI shows by about 3.4. For example I just had it at idle and the LM1 was reading between 14.5-14.7 but EFI showed an average of 11.3.
I entered different value voltages through LogWorks to see if EFI would read the voltage that I input into analog 2 and it read the same.
Anybody have any ideas? I'm running V7.3 V1.
Thanks,
Bill

Have a look at the LC-1 tutorial available through the Help menu of the Scan and Tune tools. I suspect it will be similar to the LM-1.
It takes you through setting the voltages etc so that EFILive will scale the voltage to the AFR correctly.

I went through the tutorial, didn't know that they were the same and it said this:
LC-1 Installation Tutorial
Programming LC-1 for EFI Live
EFILive version 7.3 has an LC-1 calculation in the “sae_generic.txt” file. The LC-1’s programmable settings in this section are based on these calculations. If your file is different, different input values will be needed for the LM Programmer.
# Innovate LC-1 WBO2
# ========================
*CLC-00-926
V 0.0 5.0 .1 "{EXT.AD1}"
AFR 10.0 20.0 .2 "({EXT.AD1}*3)+7.35"
*CLC-00-927
factor 0.0 2.0 .1 "{CALC.AFR_LC11.AFR}/{GM.AFR}"
*CLC-00-928
V 0.0 5.0 .1 "{EXT.AD2}"
AFR 10.0 20.0 .2 "({EXT.AD2}*3)+7.35"
*CLC-00-929
factor 0.0 2.0 .1 "{CALC.AFR_LC12.AFR}/{GM.AFR}"
For the LM1 it shows this:
# Innovate LM-1 WBO2
# ========================
*CLC-00-928
V 0.0 5.0 .1 "{EXT.AD1}"
AFR 10.0 30.0 .1 "{EXT.AD1}*10"
*CLC-00-929
factor 0.0 2.0 .1 "{CALC.AFR_LM11.AFR}/{GM.AFR}"
*CLC-00-930
V 0.0 5.0 .1 "{EXT.AD2}"
AFR 10.0 30.0 .1 "{EXT.AD2}*10"
*CLC-00-931
factor 0.0 2.0 .1 "{CALC.AFR_LM12.AFR}/{GM.AFR}"
I'm guessing that the LC1 tutorial isn't the same as the LM1, anybody know for sure?:nixweiss:

What are your actual voltages that are being read by EFILive ? I have an lm1 & have found the voltages directly proportional to the AFR. Eg 1.45 volts =14.5:1 AFR.
The LC-1 is set at 0.8 volts at 10:1 AFR
4.2 volts at 20:1 AFR
The LM-1 is set at 1.0 volts at 10:1 AFR
2.0 volts at 20:1 AFR
So yes the tutorials would be different.

Thanks for the input, I was able to get it figured out with Chads help. I may have misunderstood what Tordne was saying. Chad told me to use the tutorial and set it up using the LC1 pid and everything works correctly now.
Thanks,
Bill
