Has anyone played around with the DFCO settings on the LL8 yet? I changed one thing but it didnt do anything as far as I could tell, so I went back to stock. Also, if you have done anything, has your mileage increased (thats what Im looking for now, 14mpg sucks:mad: ).

I've not played with an LL8 yet, but I managed to get from 13mpg to 15mpg with fueling tweaks and from 15mpg to 21mpg with DFCO tweaks. I would imagine you could net significant mpg gains as well.

Thanks for the reply, what exactly did you change with DFCO settings in your car? The LL8 has very few settings to work with (dont know how many you have). There are 6 parameters from B0924-B0929 and include RPM Disable/Enable, MAP Disable/Enable, and Speed Disable/Enable.

Here is what the values are now:

{B0924} DFCO RPM Enable 1700.000000 RPM
{B0925} DFCO RPM Disable 1000.000000 RPM
{B0926} DFCO MAP Enable 4.708221 PSI
{B0927} DFCO MAP Disable 3.584727 PSI
{B0928} DFCO Vehicle Speed Enable 26.000000 MPH
{B0929} DFCO Vehicle Speed Disable 24.000000 MPH

Still playing with mine. Though I really turned down the disable DFCO to off-idle/coasting < 10mph. Haven't seen any changes this tank yet.

raised my map enable/disable to 40/45 kPa, shortened the re-enable timer to 2 seconds (stock is 5), and all other settings are still stock ('00 Firebird). I will probably raise the minimum speed tomorrow morning as it makes for funky idle transitions when transitioning from a DFCO state.

I've played around quite a bit with DFCO and it has helped gas mileage. Between those changes and other tweaks, I've picked up about 2 miles per gallon. DFCO settings that work, don't make sense when you read the descriptions and the enabler/disabler requirements are significantly different from those in LSx systems.

TAQuick, could you copy and paste your DFCO settings for all to see? I am very interested in trying them out, TIA -Jeff

Welcome to the forum wsucowboy.

It's not a simple copy paste function as the settings span multiple tables. I'll see what I can do get some screen shots for you today.

So the I5 and 06+ I6s use the same PCM, interesting...

I get ~19-20mpg on the hwy at 75 cruising, but still only 14. I wish we had an AutoVE setup so we could really dial in the parameters for our individual engines. Im a patient guy, so whatever new parameters are uncovered, that just adds icing to the cake as my TB is actually driveable now.
